Join us the the first meeting of the New Year! This meeting will be hosted by PNC Bank. They will offer more information about their small business services.  Additionally, we will be discussing our event and meeting schedules for the upcoming year. Also, meet your new Executive Board members: Darlene Davis, President (Porter’s Day Care and Educational Center)  and Dominique Ellis, Vice President  (Yolanda’s Kids Corner Child Care Center).

Festive holiday greens have ushered in the holiday season along the Logan commercial corridor. In early December, several area businesses participated in the seasonal beautification effort which was coordinated by the Logan Business Association and sponsored by the Philadelphia Activities Fund. The decorations, designed and installed by Zahra’s Floral Studio, will remain up until the New Year to invite community residents to remember to shop local businesses this holiday season. With gift certificates, spa treatments, unique cultural décor and more, the Logan commercial corridor has great gifts for everyone on your list and great food to savor before, during and after your shopping trip.

The time has come for the LBA to hold Executive Board elections! In order to run for a position, you must declare your intent to run by e-mailing Sylvia@LoganCDC or calling (215) 302-1604 ext. 102.  Please note that only registered members of the LBA will be eligible to vote or run for a position.

Commercial Corridor Internship

Please share the attached internship announcement with individuals that may be interested in working for a dynamic grass roots organization committed to community revitalization and quality customer service.

Through collaborations and independently, Logan CDC seeks to enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses through transformative community and economic development. Key projects include the Logan CDC Carlton Simmons Community Technology Center, the Logan Neighborhood Advisory Committee, the North Broad Street Improvement Project, and Real Estate Development.

With support from the Commercial Corridor Cleaning grant from the City of Philadelphia Commerce Department, Logan CDC launched a new sidewalk cleaning program in early September, hiring two Sanitation Specialists to clean Logan’s North Broad Street and Old York Road business corridors. Perry Spaid and Salahudin McDowell are already bringing positive and visible changes to the business corridor, giving residents and visitors a cleaner place to shop. To date, they have collected a total of 110 bags of garbage and recyclables from the corridor.

Please join us in welcoming Perry and Salahudin, and in keeping Logan clean!

“Strengthening Logan Businesses through Collaboration”
